Hot Water and Steam Generation Boilers

Rather than letting the heat from an incineration cycle simply escape up the chimney, a waste-to-energy boiler captures it and puts it to work — either as steam or as hot water, depending on what your site actually needs. A water tube boiler converts the heat your incinerator already generates into one of three usable outputs: electrical energy, process steam, or hot water for heating.

For electrical generation, the boiler creates high-pressure steam that powers a compact generator, which in many cases can supply enough energy to run an entire facility and meaningfully cut operating costs. Steam can also be used directly for cleaning and sterilising — a common setup at mid-sized hospitals for sterilising waste bins — or the same heat can be converted into clean hot water for central heating in the main facility and neighbouring buildings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one boiler system provide both electricity and hot water?

The specific configuration depends on your site’s needs — some installations are set up primarily for one output, while others combine electrical generation with process steam or heating. We can advise on the right setup for your facility.

In many situations, the electricity generated from incinerator waste heat can supply enough energy to effectively operate the entire facility, though actual savings depend on your waste volume and energy usage.

No — it’s also used in industrial, plant nursery, drying room, food processing, and manufacturing settings, anywhere that generates enough incinerator waste heat to be worth capturing.
